The annual event provides an opportunity for citizens to volunteer their time to help clean up litter at various locations throughout the county. This year’s cleanup efforts took place at the Galion-Bike Path, Bucyrus Aumiller Park, the Crawford County Fairgrounds, and the New Washington City Park.

Organizers emphasized the significant and long-lasting negative impacts of litter on humans, wildlife, and natural resources, noting that some materials like plastic can take up to 1,000 years to decompose.
