CRESTLINE—After a two-hour phone conference with Crawford County health officials regarding the increase of COVID-19 throughout Crawford County, Crestline Mayor Linda Horning Pitt has made the difficult decision to reinstate the temporary closure of all village buildings, including Crestline Village Hall.

“Due to the increasing positive test results in Crawford and Richland Counties, the Village of Crestline is reinstating its prior closing of all village buildings,” said Pitt in a proclamation on Thursday evening.

She said that in order to protect the Crestline community during this time of emergency, Village Hall and all Village-owned buildings are closed to the public. Village offices and departments will remain open and will be staffed for phone and email inquiries only. Any matter that requires additional services, or that cannot be completed by phone or email, will be scheduled by appointment.

During this State of Emergency, the Village of Crestline administration urges citizens and customers to utilize the online payment option on the Crestline Village website or use the pay by telephone option at 419-688-5270.

“Additionally, you can use our drop box located in the main parking lot of Village Hall,” said Pitt.

The Village of Crestline Fire and Police Departments remain operational, however, they are closed to the public.

“Should you need to speak with an officer, or make a report that cannot be completed over the phone, please call the Village of Crestline Police Department non-emergency number (419) 683-2222 to schedule an appointment,” said Pitt. “Please, in order to avoid putting our personnel and the community at risk, try to limit your contact with Police and Fire personnel to emergency situations only.”

Village parks will remain open to the public, however, citizens are urged to follow the Governor’s guidelines on large group meetings. Rentals for village-owned park spaces are suspended indefinitely.
