LORAIN, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio has announced that Vic Gregovits, President and Partner of the Lake Erie Crushers Baseball Team, will serve as the Honorary Chairperson for this year’s Harvest for Hunger campaign. Gregovits will join the organization at their Kick-Off Event on February 20.
“Vic knows that teamwork is the key to success, and this campaign is successful because of the support of community members, businesses, and grocery partners working together,” said Julie Chase-Morefield, president and CEO of Second Harvest. “His dedication to helping our community thrive makes him a great addition to our Harvest for Hunger team.”
With over 30 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industry, Gregovits brings a wealth of innovation and collaboration to the campaign. He recognizes the growing need in the region and believes in the power of community efforts to make a meaningful difference.
“It inspires me knowing that we can help the members of our community in multiple ways,” said Gregovits. “We can be a collection point and help share Harvest for Hunger with a new audience. Everyone can have an impact.”
The food and funds raised from the campaign will support Second Harvest’s network of partners, ensuring that donations stay within the county where they were raised. These contributions help restock the shelves of food pantries, hot meal programs, and shelters with nutritious food for local residents.
Harvest for Hunger is an annual food and funds drive organized by Second Harvest in partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Akron-Canton Food Bank, and Second Harvest of the Mahoning Valley. Serving 21 counties across northeast Ohio, this campaign is the largest of its kind in the country and is vital for the region.
