Horace Greeley may have advised a young protégé to go west, but as far as Adam Stanley was concerned the greener pastures were to the east.
Stanley is the manager of the Verizon Cellular Central store in Bucyrus and recently took that store from its location in the Whetstone Plaza in Bucyrus to the East Pointe Plaza.
“Location (is the) main thing. The plaza here is a lot more accessible, especially being right next to Wal-Mart. Everyone in town knows where Wal-Mart is,” Stanley said. “You can very easily see us from the road, from the bank across the street. It’s just easier to see everything out here. It gives us a little more room.”
Cellular Central has been at its new location, 217 Stetzer Road South, for approximately three weeks or more. The store held a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting Wednesday to celebrate its move. Stanley noted the goal is to get residents to realize there is Celluar Central Verizon store right in their own back yard.
“More than anything is that there is a Verizon in Bucyrus,” Stanley said when asked what message he wanted to get out. “We’ve been here eight or nine years. We’re capable of doing anything. No one has to drive to Mansfield and you get personal service here.”
The store employs four people. It offers all Verizon cellular phones, related products and services.
