BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW )—A Bucyrus Street Department employee made his initial appearance in the Crawford County Municipal Court Friday afternoon. Anthony VanHouten, 52, of Bucyrus, appeared before Judge Shane Leuthold.
VanHouten has been charged with ten counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. Judge Leuthold set his bond at one million dollars.

Friday morning, Sheriff Scott Kent issued a news release advising citizens that his office executed a search warrant at VanHouten’s Bucyrus home. Several electronic items were seized from the residence during the execution of the search warrant.
Bucyrus Mayor Bruce Truka placed VanHouten on unpaid administrative leave upon his arrest. Truka expressed his support for the Sheriff’s Department and pledged fully cooperation in the investigation.
