A soil health workshop focused on the benefits of cover crops and overall soil health has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Crawford County Courthouse in Bucyrus.

The featured speaker will be Jim Hoorman from OSU Extension. Topics covered include nutrient recycling, soil ecology, soil compaction, ecological farming practices, using cover crops to adapt to extreme weather, economics of cover crops, raising homegrown nitrogen and using cover crops in a rotation.

This is a great opportunity for interested individuals to learn and expand their knowledge of cover cops and overall soil health.

Time will be allotted for lunch at the participant’s expense.
