The Schine’s Art Park will be busy with activity on Saturday when the Unity in the Community event gets underway at 2 p.m.
Bucyrus Police Chief Dave Koepke said the event is designed to celebrate recovery and to provide resources for those people in the community still struggling with addiction.
“Bucyrus and Crawford County is a community in recovery. Out of 88 counties, we have moved from 5th to 58th in per capita overdoses and this is the result of awareness and joint effort on all fronts,” said Koepke.
The event will feature free food and beverages, resources, referrals to detox/treatment, testimonies, music and a kid’s area with activities and prizes. A prayer walk will also take place along with a balloon launch and more.
“There are going to be some awesome people at the event including people from the groups that are helping the police department sponsor this event such as Operation Hope, Together We Hurt Together We Heal and Project One.
Schine’s Art Park is located at 300 S. Sandusky Ave. Unity in the Community will be happening from 2 to 8 p.m.
