CRESTLINE –Unger Park will be the scene of a Civil War Reenactment this weekend.
The event is sponsored by the Crawford Park District and is open to the public. A battle reenactment is planned and visitors can walk through Army encampments of the North and South. Period demonstrations will be offered along with interactive activities. Kids can even be “recruited” into a soldier’s life.
Unger Park is located at 1303 Bucyrus-Nevada Road, Bucyrus. The event is free and open to the people of all ages. It will kick off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 29 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Sunday, June 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The schedule for the weekend is as follows:
Saturday, June 29
8 to 10:30 am: Company Drill
11 am: Battle Reenactment
12 pm: Spector Volunteer Drill & Visit Camps
1 pm: A Soldier’s Accoutrements
3 pm: Event is closed to the General Public
9:30 pm: Astronomy Program (weather permitting)
Sunday, June 30
8 to 10:30 am: Company Drill
11 am: Battle Reenactment
12 pm: Spector Volunteer Drill & Visit Camps
1 pm: Event ends. Travel Safely!
