BUCYRUS—Two men were sent to prison in separate cases heard in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Monday.

Jacob Fritz, 29, of Warren, Ohio admitted to violating the terms and conditions of his community control. Fritz was placed on five years of community control after pleaded guilty to possession of drugs in July.

Fritz violated several conditions of his community control including possession of drug abuse instruments, failing to make his whereabouts known to his probation officer, failure to report for probation office visits, testing positive for heroin and admission to the use of heroin.

Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Fritz to eight months in prison. Leuthold said he would not oppose transitional control should the request be made by the prison.

Kevin Davis, 32, of Bucyrus pleaded guilty to one count of theft, a fourth-degree felony. Leuthold sentenced Davis to 12 months in prison with Davis receiving credit for 65 days served in jail.

Leuthold noted that there were a lot of negotiations in the case. Davis will be placed on five years of community control if he receives an early release from prison. Davis was also ordered to pay $2474 in restitution to the victim.

Timothy Swartz, 51, of Crestline entered a guilty plea to one count of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony.

Swartz was recommended for the state’s diversion program. If he successfully completes the program, the charge will be dismissed. Swartz was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,100 along with a $600 program fee.
