The Crawford Park District’s focus this week is definitely on animals.

In addition to Monday’s program for children at Lowe-Volk Park about animal sounds, the Park District will host Lisle Gibbs and Rob Denton tonight and on Saturday naturalist Chris Rothhaar will lead a program at Unger Park entitled Animal Tracks and Signs.

Tonight’s program begins at 7 p.m. at the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center. Gibbs will discuss current projects at the Gibbs Lab at Ohio State which focuses on genetic research and ecology. Denton will discuss his research on salamanders in Crawford County.

Rothhaar’s program on Saturday begins at 9 a.m. at Unger Farm and will be an outdoor hike to study animal habits through their tracks and signs.
