BUCYRUS — Fred Hatfield was arraigned yesterday in Crawford County Common Pleas Court. Hatfield is being charged with seven counts of rape both first-degree felonies, for engaging in sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 13. He is being held on a $750,000 bond.

 

Also arraigned yesterday, Darren Pfeifer who is being held on a $1,000,000 bond, charged with two counts of rape both first-degree felonies, pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person a second-degree felony, sexual battery a second-degree felony, and gross sexual imposition a third-degree felony.

The two defendants could receive life in prison without parole because the victims are under the age of 13. They could get 11 years each with the possibility of life without parole for each first-degree felony and up to 8 years for each second-degree felony convictions. Gross Sexual Imposition and Sexual Battery are both third-degree felonies punishable with up to 36 months in prison on each count.
