UPPER SANDUSKY – On Thursday, March 18 at 1:47 pm, the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of CH 107 and CH 42 in Crane Twp. Deputies responded to the scene along with the Upper Sandusky EMS, Upper Sandusky JAWS, and the Upper Sandusky Fire Department.

Investigation of the crash scene found that Gage Andrews Layton, age 25, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio was traveling westbound on CH 42 in a Gray 2018 Jeep Renegade when he failed to yield to Mary A Reinhart, age 73, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio who was traveling northbound on CH 107 in a 2018 White Ford Escape.

Following the impact, the two vehicles went off the northwest corner of the intersection and onto the property 6986 CH 107.

Mary A Reinhart and front-seat passenger, Dale F Reinhart, age 76, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, were both pronounced deceased at the scene by acting corner Michael O’Reilly.

Gage Andrews Layton and front-seat passenger, Crystal Lynn Layton, age 35, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio were both transported to Wyandot Memorial Hospital Emergency Room by Upper EMS with serious injuries. Gage was later transported to Riverside by Med Flight and Crystal was transported to Riverside by Upper EMS.

Dale and Mary Reinhart were transported to Bringman-Clark Funeral Home by Upper EMS.

Assisting the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office was Upper Sandusky EMS, Upper Sandusky Jaws, Upper Sandusky Fire Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Fox’s Towing.

Crash Remains under investigation by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.
