CRESTLINE – On Tuesday, September 8, Crawford County Sheriff Deputies were called out the intersection of Baker Road and SR 39 for a two-vehicle crash. When the deputies arrived, they discovered a gold 2012 Jeep Laredo with severe damage to its front end. This vehicle was driven by sixty-year-old Dennis W. Laferty from Tiro, Ohio and the passenger to this vehicle was identified as eighty-three-year-old Mildred I. Laferty who also from Tiro, Ohio.
The Laferty’s were transported to Shelby Hospital and taken to Grant Hospital in Columbus. The other vehicle that was involved in the crash was a white 2005 Freightliner Semi that was driven by eighteen-year-old James M. Stuart from Ashland, Ohio. Stuart reported no injuries and was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield at a stop sign. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Ronk’s Towing and alcohol and drug use are not suspected in the crash.
