Two hearings in Crawford County Common Pleas Court did not go as planned Tuesday afternoon. Both Kelly Johnson and Cassandra Lykens will be back in court however.
Lykens was there Tuesday for an initial hearing on a charge of violating probation. Lykens was placed on the intervention in lieu of conviction program and is accused of being charged with criminal violations in Richland County, failing to go to counseling and refusing a drug test.
Lykens initially waived her right to an attorney and pleaded no contest until it was recommended she go to CBCF. When she balked, Judge Russell Wiseman continued the hearing and appointed Sebastian Berger to represent her.
Kelly Johnson pleaded guilty to felony 3 burglary. Johnson was offered a prison sentenced of three years with the stipulation the County Prosecutor’s Office would not oppose his judicial release after serving six months of that sentence.
But when Johnson told the judge a witness had been threatened with prison if she testified on his behalf, Wiseman ended the hearing immediately. That case is scheduled to go to trial later this month.
