Two Firefighters sworn in

MARION—The Marion Fire Department swore in two new Firefighters on Thursday.

Kevin Faehnle and Ben Bowdre come into the department with solid firefighting experience. Faehnle spent five years with the Marion Department before taking another position. Firefighter Bowdre spent 17 years on the Marion Township Fire Department.

An agreement between the City and the Marion Firefighters L379 allowed for the incentivized hiring of members from outside the FD with prior experience, allowing for our department to recruit members who can “hit the ground running” and don’t require additional training.
