BUCYRUS―Two Bucyrus residents were seriously injured in a crash north of Bucyrus Saturday evening.

Timothy E. Dye, 42, was traveling north on Ohio 19 at 7:49 p.m. on his 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control while attempting to avoid hitting a Ford F150 truck, driven by William A. Campbell, 35, Shelby, that had stopped in the roadway for emergency vehicles, north of the intersection at Shafer Road.

Both Timothy Dye and his wife, Bonnie Dye, 42, were ejected from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. Timothy was flown to the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus while Bonnie was taken by Portsmouth Ambulance Service to Bucyrus Community Hospital for treatment. She was later transported to a Columbus hospital for further treatment. Campbell was not injured.

The roadway was closed by the Holmes Township Volunteer Fire Department during the investigation of the crash. Campbell was issued a citation for driving under suspension.

The crash remains under investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and alcohol is not suspected in the crash. Hensley’s Towing removed the motorcycle from the crash scene.
