Sunday was no day of rest for local law enforcement, but it was a good day’s work when a search warrant led to two arrests and the seizure of drugs and weapons.
The Crestline Police Department, assisted by officers from the Crawford County Sherriff’s Office, Bucyrus Police Department, Galion Police Department, and METRICH Special Investigative Unit, executed a search warrant at 724 Brown Street in Crestline. Crestline and Galion firefighters were also on the scene.
A press release from Crestline Police Chief Joe Butler indicated the search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation which was triggered by complaints and tips about the manufacture of illegal substances.
Two people were arrested at the scene. Thirty-one-year-old Mathew Cobb was arrested for possession of chemicals to manufacture drugs, manufacturing drugs, having weapons under disability, felony criminal damaging, felony tampering with evidence, possession of drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In addition, Cobb was also wanted on a felony warrant for a probation violation that was issued in Morrow County.
The other person arrested was 25-year-old Cami Neese of Upper Sandusky who is being held on a probation violation.
Authorities found and seized cash, methamphetamine, guns, knives, clubs, evidence of heroin, and methamphetamine use in the house.
