TIFFIN, OHIO – TU Music Department Director Brad Rees has been invited to serve as guest conductor for two all-state high school music groups across the nation.

Brad Rees“It’s a great honor to be invited to conduct these ensembles,” said Rees. “It’s very rewarding to get to work with the best of the best among high school singers.”

This month he directed the Indiana All-State Jazz Choir at the University of Indianapolis which was the featured group as the Indiana Choral Directors Association summer conference.

In January 2014, he will conduct the Colorado All-State Women’s Vocal Jazz Ensemble who will be featured at the Colorado Music Education Association conference in Colorado Springs.

“I’m particularly excited to get to return to Colorado, where I taught and studied before moving to Ohio in 1995 to establish TU’s very first music program,” he said.

Under Rees’ leadership, TU’s music department has grown to offer two cutting-edge music degree programs and more than 15 different music and dance ensembles, and has been recognized as a regional leader in commercial and popular music performance.
