TIFFIN UNIVERSITY, TIFFIN, OH— Tiffin University’s Homecoming will take place the weekend of October 4-6. According to Vickie Galaska, TU’s new Director of Alumni Relations, “Homecoming is a special event that unites students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the Tiffin community, to celebrate Tiffin University pride! New this year is our Dragon Parade on Saturday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m. Those who wish to participate (the public is invited) must fill out a Parade Participation Form and return it to Jennifer Spangler in the TU Athletics Office. The weekend will kick off on Friday, October 4 with a Women’s Soccer game vs. Northern Michigan University at 12:00 p.m. at the Paradiso Athletic Complex. A Men’s Soccer game will follow at 2:00 p.m. vs. Saginaw Valley State University at Paradiso Athletic Complex.

Bassel & The Supernaturals Soul-Jazz Band is putting on a concert at Osceola Theatre- Gillmor Student Center at 8:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to all current students and alumni.

The Official Hall of Fame After-Party starts at 9:30 p.m. All alumni, family, and friends are welcome to attend the party at Shell Shuckers, 1927 Rt. 53, Tiffin.

The Dragon Parade starts at 10:00 a.m. Students, families, friends, alumni, and community members are invited to join us for a Dragon Parade beginning at the Heminger Center and traveling east to Frost Parkway and ending at Frost-Kalnow Stadium; just in time for tailgating fun! Featured participants are President and Mrs. Marion, Homecoming Court, student organizations, TU band, Greek fraternities and sororities, athletic teams, TU cheerleaders, local high school bands, and many community groups.

Guided Campus Tours will be given from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All tours will be begin at the Gillmor Student Center and include Main Campus, Nature Preserve, Paradiso Athletic Complex, Living Learning Community, and Heminger Center.

Prior to the 1:30 p.m. kick-off of Dragon football vs. Malone University game on Saturday, the Alumni Office is hosting a pre-game tailgate party at the Tiffin Frost-Kalnow Stadium parking lot starting at 11:00 a.m. Featured fun includes a food tent, a children’s game tent, a kid’s craft tent, and alumni tent. Pre-game events also include the introduction of the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame Members. Half-time will feature the introduction of the Homecoming Court, a parade of former Homecoming Royalty, and performances by the TU Marching Band and Choir with special alumni guests. After the football game, there will be an All Alumni Whiffle Ball Game at 5:00 p.m. Alumni, family, and friends are welcome to participate in a friendly game of whiffle ball at the Heminger Center- Turf Room. If you don’t play whiffle ball, there will be refreshments available for spectators. There will be special recognition for the 1993 Women’s Softball Team (the first TU women’s team to make the National Tournament).
