BUCYRUS—Trial dates for three defendants charged with aggravated murder and related murder charges have been reserved in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court.

Timothy Montgomery, 49, his wife Jaqueline, 43, and Cameron Davis, 31, will have separate trials.

The charges stemmed from the beating death of Michael “Mikey” Benedict more than a year ago. The three defendants engaged in an altercation with Benedict at a Crestline Bar. Police were called, and they were all told to leave. Somehow they ended up on the same street where a vicious beating resulted in Benedict’s death.

The trial of Timothy Montgomery is scheduled to begin on February 6th. He is represented by attorney Terry Hitchman. His wife, also represented by Hitchman, will begin on March 6th.
The third defendant, Cameron Davis, is set to face a jury on April 3rd. Davis was represented by attorney Adam Stone. Stone, who is embroiled in a professional conduct complaint, withdrew from the case on Monday.
Crawford County Prosecutor Matt Crall doesn’t believe Stone’s withdrawal as Davis’ trial Lawyer makes a difference.
“He’ll have a lawyer appointed if he doesn’t retain his own counsel, as he’s entitled to under law. That’s already been set in motion.” Crall said.
Crawford County Now will provide complete coverage of the upcoming trials.
