GALION—Former Galion City Councilwoman Melissa Frank-Elwell, 63, has pleaded not guilty to disorderly conduct. Galion Police charged the former 2nd Ward City Council Representative with a misdemeanor on July 25th.
Elwell abruptly resigned from the Galion City Council via email on August 8th, saying:
“Please accept my resignation from City Council for the city of Galion, Ward 2. I can no longer support the city of Galion due to the trauma I’ve been through with the Galion Police Department. I do not feel safe here.”
A trial date of October 27th in Municipal Court has been set. Elwell was placed on a personal recognizance bond.
