COLUMBUS, OHIO (January 5, 2022) – The world’s top travel companies and destinations are coming together virtually this year for the 2nd AAA Virtual Great Vacations Travel EXPO, Jan. 15 and 16.
Despite concerns of COVID-19 and the quickly spreading Omicron variant, AAA travel booking data shows a huge demand for travel, with about twice as many people booking vacations compared to the same time last year. Many bookings are for travel this year, but others are looking out to 2023 and 2024.
“We are excited to host AAA’s second annual Virtual Great Vacations Travel EXPO,” said Jeremy Marshall, vice president, Travel Sales for AAA Ohio Auto Club. “Many people still have questions as they think about traveling again. The event will be a one-stop-shop for everything related to travel, featuring virtual presentations on the Webex platform by travel industry experts, designed to prepare and excite attendees for future travel.
Travel experts and destinations featured in this year’s show will provide firsthand travel insights into the travel industry and what travelers can expect when they do get out and travel again. They’ll also show some of the best locations to travel in 2022 and beyond.

Attendees will have the opportunity to schedule virtual appointments with AAA Travel agents over the EXPO weekend and during the week following the event. Those that book their next vacation any time during the week following the EXPO can still take advantage of exclusive EXPO deals, just as they did during previous travel EXPOs.
AAA has hosted more than a decade of in-person travel EXPOs. Last year, due to COVID-19, the EXPO went virtual for the first time.
