BUCYRUS — For the second time in one month, a crash on a U.S. 30 bridge halted traffic while crews responded.

According to the Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Patrol, the post dispatched at 7:33 a.m. Friday to a crash involving a truck registered to Rumpke in Mansfield.

According to the patrol’s report, the Rumpke employee was driving westbound on U.S. 30 between CH 330 and Ohio 98 when he drove into gravel on the shoulder of the road and struck a guardrail on the bridge over the Sandusky River.

The road currently is operating with one lane due to construction on the bridge.

The impact damaged the front passenger side of the truck, disabling it.

Traffic on U.S. 30 was halted from the time of the crash until the scene was cleared at approximately 8:40 a.m.

Cleanup was performed by Kokosing Construction Company and the truck was towed from the scene by Ronks Towing Auto and Truck Recovery Service.

A trooper on scene said the driver would be cited with failure to control.
