The last weekend in June typically means it’s time for the Tiro-Auburn Firefighters Festival and some good clean fun playing mud volleyball. With an abundance of rain of late, perhaps festival organizers won’t have to work too hard in getting the courts ready.
This year’s festival is Friday and Saturday. Although bull riding will not be part of this year’s festival, there will – as always – be plenty of food, music and mud volleyball.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the fire department will have the food ready to go inside the fire station. This year food will be served beginning at noon each day. The menu includes pork roast on Friday and beef roast on Saturday along with salads, sides, beverage and desserts which include homemade ice cream.
The mud volleyball tournament will get underway Friday and continue Saturday. The 5K run and walk is Friday evening with registration at 6 and the race at 7.
Entertainment at this year’s festival beer garden includes Mike Risner on Friday night and Left of Center on Saturday night.
The festival serves as the primary fundraiser for the Tiro-Auburn Fire Department and there will be plenty of activities for everyone, including the kids.
