NEWS RELEASE:

Wynford students are not only getting brighter in the classrooms, now they will appear brighter on stage too! Thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Timken Foundation of Canton, stage lighting will be replaced, most of which had not been updated since the auditorium was built in the early 60’s.

“On behalf of the students, staff, administration, and board of education; I would like to thank the Timken Foundation for their generosity,” Co-Drama Advisor Brandon Buck said. “We need to update all of our stage lights and control board, many of which are starting to fail. This grant allows us to do so without any financial burden to the district. We’d also like to thank former Bucyrus Timken Plant manager Robert Hiltbrand and current plant manager Tim Hicks, for all their assistance and support in the grant process.”

The current stage lights will be updated with new LED fixtures. The new lights will be brighter, will not put off as much heat, and are more energy efficient than the old incandescent fixtures, allowing for more lights without an increase in electrical costs.
