BUCYRUS — Several defendants were sentenced to community control on Thursday in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.
Sean Rhodes, 20, of Crestline pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drugs, a third-degree felony punishable with up to three years in prison.
In a plea negotiation, Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Rhodes to five years of community control. Rhodes will forfeit all drug-related property to the Crestline Police Department.
“Behave yourself. You’ve got three years of prison hanging over your head,” Leuthold said.
Emily Laub, 25, of Bucyrus pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to one year in prison. Leuthold sentenced Laub to five years of community control. She was ordered to forfeit all drug-related property to the Bucyrus Police Department.
Martha Wright, 25, of Bucyrus pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to one year in prison. Leuthold sentenced Wright to five years of community control. She was ordered to forfeit all drug-related property to the Bucyrus Police Department.
Ashley Loftis, 23, of Bucyrus appeared on charges she violated the terms and conditions of her community control after she tested positive in a routine drug screen for meth and methamphetamines.
Leuthold ordered the matter be set for a full hearing and bond was set at $25,000. Attorney Brian Gernert was appointed to represent Loftis.
Margaret Fife, 39, formerly of Marysville, was charged with violating the terms and conditions of her community control after she tested positive in a routine drug screen for meth and methamphetamines.
Fife was sentenced to four years in prison in 2017 after she pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony punishable with up to eight years in prison. She was granted judicial release in April 2018 and placed on community control. Leuthold ordered the matter be set for a full hearing and bond was set at $25,000. Attorney Tom Nicholson was appointed to represent Fife.
