BUCYRUS―Three people involved in two separate incidents were charged with violating the Ohio Health Director’s order to stay at home to decrease the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus on Tuesday.

At 1:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of two people trying to enter another’s residence and leaving in a car. Jonathan M. Gregory, 24, and Matthew C. Carpenter, 44, were both arrested in the area of Highland Avenue and East Rensselaer Street. Both men were charged with violating the order of the state health director to stay at home after investigating the suspicious activity that had occurred in the 900 block of East Warren Street. They were released pending court appearances.

At 8:56 p.m., officers responded with EMS personnel to the 600 block of South Sandusky Avenue after receiving multiple calls about a male in the area yelling and rolling around on the ground. It was a man having a non-fatal overdose.

James Shope Jr., 30, was arrested at the scene on two Crawford County warrants and was also charged with violating an order by the Ohio Director of Health. He was issued a summons with a court date and released.

8:35 a.m.-Officers assisted Children’s Services personnel in the 200 block of Ethel Street.

3:35 p.m.-Officers checked a West Mansfield Street address for a person who had been reported missing. The person was later located in Mansfield.

4:14 p.m.-Officers investigated a report of a person illegally operating a riding mower on a city street. The person was gone upon officers’ arrival.

4:26 p.m.-A report of a possible sex crime was received and remains under investigation.

5:01 p.m.-A Harris Avenue resident reported finding a stray pit bull at her residence. The Crawford County Dog Warden reunited the dog with its owner.

5:08 p.m.-A report of a person laying on the tree lawn at Willard Street and Schaber Avenue was investigated. EMS personnel were called to tend to the person who had been in a fight and lost. The injured person declined to file a complaint. On an unrelated matter, another person involved was issued a minor misdemeanor summons for a previous disorderly conduct complaint.

5:12 p.m.-A report of a suspicious vehicle in the 600 block of Myers Street was investigated. It was a roto rooter truck leaking water.

5:30 p.m.-A Beal Avenue resident reported his vehicle scratched while parked in his driveway.

6:37 p.m.-A verbal warning for trespassing was issued in the 600 block of Earl Street. A person had been retrieving items from a dumpster.

7:07 p.m.-A person fishing at Riley Reservoir reported someone shooting toward his location.  After checking the area, officers located a father on nearby private property teaching his children to shoot. They were given some advice on safer ways to do that and stopped for the night.

7:40 p.m.-A loud music complaint in the 1300 block of Monnett Street was investigated and a verbal warning given.

8:30 p.m.-A one-vehicle accident at Plymouth and North Lane Streets was investigated. A motorist struck a retaining wall and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed and the motorist was cited for failure to control.

9:26 p.m.-A report of a suspicious person yelling and acting erratically in the area of Beal Avenue and Colonial Drive was investigated. It was just someone who had hurt their hand. They advised they did not need assistance.

10:18 p.m.-Officers spoke to a resident at the police department about threats he had received from someone he knows.

11:39 p.m.-A resident in the 400 block of West Charles Street reported someone refusing to leave his residence. The unwanted person was gone when officers arrived.

11:51 p.m.-A resident in the 200 block of Inez Street reported receiving harassing phone calls from someone he knows. That person was contacted and issued a verbal warning about telecommunications harassment.

12:49 a.m.-A resident in the 500 block of South Spring Street reported hearing voices outside her residence. It turned out to be her neighbors outside watching the storm approach.

1:13 a.m.-A domestic disturbance was investigated in the area of Waterford Glen. It was a verbal dispute and someone was drinking too much.
