BUCYRUS—A report of a possible burglary in progress led to the arrests of three people on Friday evening.
According to Lt. Tom Walker of the Bucyrus Police Department, officers were called to a residence in the 500 block of East Charles Street in reference to a possible burglary in progress.
Upon arrival, officers encountered two people on the back porch, who immediately retreated indoors and initially refused to come out. Officers established a perimeter and called in the Special Response Unit and Swat team.
A combined effort of the Bucyrus Police Department, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Crawford County Special Response Team, and Metrich resulted in three people being held for investigation, including one female arrested on a warrant out of Crawford County.
According to a page that went out during the incident, the Bucyrus Fire Department was called to the scene due to the possibility of methamphetamine being cooked inside the residence.
No other information is being released by the police department at this time as the investigation continues.
