The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office reports that three people, including a juvenile, were injured when they were struck by a truck at a truck mudding event. The incident occurred Saturday evening on private property on County Highway 122 east of Upper Sandusky.
According to the Sheriff’s Office two adult females and one juvenile male were hit by a 1965 El Camino driven by 21-year-old Charles Luikart of Upper Sandusky. The women were identified as 42-year-old Lisa Cain of Sycamore, Cain’s 14-year-old son Noah Cain, also of Sycamore, and 54-year-old Teresa Wright of Nevada.
Both women were flown from the scene by medical helicopter to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo. Noah Cain was taken to Wyandot Memorial Hospital and then later flown by medical helicopter to St. Vincent’s in Toledo.
The victims were hit by Luikart’s truck after he had exited the mud pit and was going to park. Luikart told authorities his brakes failed. The El Camino was towed from the scene and is being held by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office while the incident is under investigation.
