Judge Russell Wiseman kept the turnstiles moving Wednesday in Crawford County Common Pleas Court including three cases that ended with prison sentences.
Richard Stall changed his plea to guilty on charges of burglary and heroin possession. Stall was sentenced to four years in prison for burglary and 12 months for possession of heroin. The sentences will run concurrently.
Stall was also ordered to pay the mandatory drug fine of $1,250, a restitution fee of $500 to the victim, as well as court costs. Once released Stall will receive a six-month suspension of his driver’s license, along with post release community control of three years.
Jesse Dyer was sentenced to 36 months in prison for community control violations. Dyer’s laundry list of violations included positive tests for morphine, cocaine, opiates, and THC, as well as failing to report to his supervising officer while on community control.
Additional felony forgery charges against Dyer were dropped as part of his plea agreement.
Robert Heffelfinger pleaded guilty to community control violations. Heffelfinger, a tier one sex offender, was sentenced to 36 months in prison with 176 days credit of time served for failing to report a change of address with the Crawford County Sheriff. Heffelfinger will be placed in post release control for the mandatory of five years once released.
A 32-year-old Galion man isn’t going home, but he is going to get some help. Golden Wilson was in Common Pleas Court Wednesday and will remain in the county jail until he is placed with the CBCF program in Tiffin.
Wilson faced several charges including heroin use, DUI and multiple violations of his probationary status. Wilson asked to be released on a personal recognizance bond until placed in the treatment program.
“If I didn’t care I would release you and save the tax payers money, but I do care,” Wiseman told Wilson.
Wilson will also have to pay a $1,250 fine.
Zane Brady III had an initial hearing on charges of violating his community control on Wednesday. Brady is charged with resisting arrest and furnishing alcohol to minors. Brady was released on a personal recognizance bond.
Three other cases were continued due to defendants changing attorneys.
