BUCYRUS—Several persons indicted by the Crawford County Grand Jury appeared via video for arraignment in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court.
Aaron J. Patterson, 40, rural Galion, currently being held in the Crawford County Jail was indicted on two counts of rape, each felonies of the first degree punishable with up to 11 years in prison on each count and one count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony punishable with up to 36 months in prison.
Patterson is accused of raping his 14-year-old girl. Force is defined by the predator having power over the victim. The sexual battery charge infers that the offender coerced his victim by means that left the victim unable to resist. According to allegations, photos of Patterson kissing the victim were retrieved. Prosecutors are also in possession of a taped confession.
Attorney Jerry Thompson was appointed to represent Patterson. Bond was set at $2,000,000.00.
Daniel Renner, 26, of Shelby was indicted on 30 counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, each a fourth degree felony and each punishable with up to 18 months in prison and a sex offender registration.
According to allegations, Renner was in possession of pictures and videos of children as young as four years old in sexual acts. According to prosecutors, one of the children in the video was crying.
Renner retained attorney Derek Dailey who appeared in court and waived the reading of the entire indictment. He entered a not guilty plea on behalf of his client.
Judge Leuthold set Renner’s bond at $1,000,000.00.
Jeramiah Johnson, 28, of Sulpher Springs was indicted on one count of tampering with evidence, a third degree felony punishable with up to 36 months in prison and one count of soliciting, a misdemeanor of third degree punishable with up to 60 days in jail.
According to allegations, Johnson tried to destroy evidence on his cell phone that linked him to the solicitation. Attorney Andrew Motter was appointed to represent Johnson. Bond was set at $25,000.00.
Tara Breinich, 45, of Bucyrus was indicted on one count of tampering with evidence, a fifth degree felony punishable with up to 36 months in prison and two counts of possession of drugs each fifth degree felonies punishable with up to 12 months in prison on each count.
Judge Leuthold appointed attorney Tani Eyer to represent Breinich. Bond was set at $50,000.00.
