Galion’s last Third Friday event was such a hit that 23 local businesses are involved for this upcoming Friday as opposed to the 17 that were featured last month.
A distinguishing aspect of Galion’s Third Fridays is the featured themes that are different each month. The theme for June is Safety Services Appreciation. The Galion Safety Council is cosponsoring the event, and it will feature multiple safety details.
At the gazebo, Third Friday will begin with meeting the Galion Graders at 4:30 p.m. At 5 p.m., the Galion Safety Council will hold a fire extinguisher training. The Galion Area Band will perform at 5:30. Due to the band getting rained out the last time, the will play for approximately 45 minutes. The Galion Fire Department will bring out its new aerial truck at 6:30 for the public to observe. Closing at 7 will be a performance from the Eagle Dance Center competition team.
Once again, local food businesses will be having specials. Payne’s Pizza will be selling pizza by the slice, the Whistle Stop and Big Plate Diner will be grilling out on the sidewalks, and the Candi Bar will be selling iced coffee. New bakery Cake and Icing will be offering “cake cones”.
