Normally it’s the U.S. Postal Service workers who say neither rain nor sleet nor snow will keep them from their job but now you can officially add CenturyLink employees to that list of dogged workers.
A group of CenturyLink workers swarmed across the playscape at Aumiller Park on a rainy Wednesday morning to dig up weeds and clean up the area.
“CenturyLink is here in Bucyrus giving back to the community,” said Kelly Blay, Vice President and General Manager for CenturyLink for the Ohio operations. “We’ve got our leadership team from across the state of Ohio is here in a team building event but also to help improve Aumiller Park here in Bucyrus.”
Blay said they were cleaning out the weeds in the playscape area and the mulch beds.
“It’s spring in Ohio, what do you expect,” Blay said good-naturedly. “It’s going pretty good. A little wet but better than snow. We’re having fun and making some great progress.”
CenturyLink is a local provider and covers 25 percent of the state of Ohio. Blay said they looked at their service territory to see where they could help out.
“We looked at an area that was a big part of our service territory. The city is a customer of CenturyLink and that means a lot to us,” she said.
The group was able to meet in Bucyrus to work on this team building and community service project. With some sporting rain boots and others rain jackets, the CenturyLink leadership team was ready for anything.
