CRESTLINE—The Hub at Village Square is quickly becoming the newest hot spot in the village of Crestline.

The event center is dubbed a wedding venue but is so much more than that.

“We are planning many different types of events that will provide fun for people of all ages and offer events that the whole family can attend, along with weddings, of course,” said Vanessa Bell who co-owns The Hub with her business partner, Alyssa Huss.

Bell said she and her husband, JJ, own Create, Restore and More based in Mifflin and were approached by Joe Dzugan who had the property, located at 311 N. Seltzer St., in Crestline, on the market for sale. It is the former site of Rite Aid in Crestline.

“I looked at the property and decided we could do something with it,” said Bell.

She brought in her best friend and fellow business owner, Huss, to create the business. Their husbands, JJ Bell and Kale Huss, help out when needed with the new business venture.

“Alyssa owns Alyssa Huss Photography so she, too, was already a business owner,” Bell said.

Huss said the Crestline is up and coming again.

“We want to be part of the Crestline comeback and offer something to the community that everyone can enjoy,” said Huss.

The property is spacious and offers a venue for weddings and events, three restrooms, a bar, and an area in which caterers can set up.

“We have several weddings booked already and are planning a Mother’s Day event and concert series,” said Bell. “We have a full liquor license and also have the garage doors that we can open so our venue can be indoors and outdoors. We will hold the concerts at the gazebo but can move indoors if there is bad weather.”

The Mother’s Day Event will be held at The Hub from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8! Tickets for the event will include a catered meal from Avita, giveaways, a paint party hosted by Bell, a jazz band and more. The bar will be open with specialty mimosas and a Bloody Mary bar with all the fixings.

Register for the Mother’s Day event by April 15 or until all slots are filled by clicking here.

There are four concert dates scheduled that will be held on Friday evenings from June through September. The lineup features County Line on June 11, Reckless Highway on July 16, Patrick Jaeckin on Aug. 20 and Mark Leach on Sept. 10.

“These events will be so much fun for everyone. People are ready to get out and do something different after a long year and will really enjoy the amazing artists we have lined up for this series,” said Bell.

A ribbon-cutting by the Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce will be held at The Hub at Village Square on April 21 at 10 a.m. Both Bell and Huss said they are looking forward to meeting everyone and donuts and coffee will be served.
