BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Since March, The Community Foundation for Crawford County has awarded strategic competitive grants to local charitable organizations and municipalities totaling $413,430 and including the following recipients:

Competitive Grants went to the following:

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, Inc. – $5,000 towards lodging for Crawford County families whose children face life threatening illnesses
  • North Central State College Foundation – $33,000 towards the 5G Readiness Program
  • The Salvation Army – $37,000 towards ongoing renovation of their new Maplecrest facility
  • Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney – $30,000 for youth mentoring program
  • Bucyrus Historical Society – $42,000 towards building repairs
  • Crawford County History Alliance Fund of Projects, Inc. – $18,000 towards website, promotional materials, and America 250 events
  • TNR Fund of Projects, Inc. – $1,000 towards operating costs of feral cat trap, neuter, return program
  • American Red Cross of East Central Ohio – $17,016 to fund six blood drives in Crawford County
  • Preserving Galion – $5,000 towards Gill House repairs
  • Del-Mor Dwellings – $1,680 for gas cards and essential supplies for Crawford County Del-Mor Dwellings residents
  • Marion Matters, Inc. dba Crawford Matters – $23,000 for administrative costs for establishing programming in Crawford County
  • Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works Museum – $32,000 for building repairs
  • Dolly Parton Imagination Library Crawford County Affiliate #2484 – $13,500 towards children’s books
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio – $8,500 towards food for Crawford County residents
  • LifeCare Alliance – $5,000 for two full and one partial “camperships” for Crawford County children with diabetes attending an educational camp for teaching diabetes management
  • Avita Health Foundation – $8,000 toward an overhead suspension system for the new Bucyrus orthopedic, sports medicine and therapy project
  • Crawford County History Alliance Fund of Projects, Inc. – $6.000 for combined CCHA events celebrating America 250
  • Galion Community Theatre – $25,000 towards sound equipment wireless upgrade
  • #CrawfordForGood – $7,000 towards a matching pool with fundraiser benefiting Crawford County non-profit organizations
  • Crawford Partnership – $50,000 towards continuation of Vision Campaign
  • Crawford County Community Concert Association – $5,000 towards improved concert offerings
  • Giving2sday – $25,000 to award funds participating in the Foundation’s annual fundraiser, distributed on a prorated basis

Special Recognition Grants went to the following:

  • Crawford County Agricultural Society – $700 for the Crawford County Farm Hop
  • Crawford County Public Health – $800 towards GuardCare funding

The first competitive grant cycle deadline for 2026 is December 31, 2025, with grants to be awarded in the spring of 2026.
