BUCYRUS―One hundred senior citizens made their way to the Crawford County Council on Aging building on Nov. 16 for a free Thanksgiving dinner.

According to Activity Coordinator Candy Yocum, tickets for the event were available at the Council on Aging until the full 100 were gone.

Yocum said the meal (which included turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and a roll) was generously provided by Advanced Fiber Technologies and the meal was catered by Special Occasions Catering.

Following the meal, Heartland of Bucyrus provided pecan and pumpkin pies. There were also door prizes from Kindred at Home, Norton’s Flowers, the Crawford County Council on Aging, and Advanced Fiber Technologies. Chrysalis Advantage Point helped set up and serve the meal.

Volunteers from the Council on Aging, Heartland, Special Occasions Catering and Kindred at Home also helped serve.

“The Crawford County Council on Aging is very thankful not only to have been a part of this but also for every organization that helped make this happen and for the seniors that attended,” said Yocum.
