After nearly 30 years in the business, Todd Hill is hanging up his reporter’s hat and diving into the world of city government.

The Bucyrus City Council gave Hill the nod Tuesday night when legislation was unanimously passed to appoint him to the full-time position of council clerk. Hill will take over the duties from Kelli Tuttle on April 25 and will serve in the position through 2017.

Hill came to the Bucyrus Telegraph-Forum in October of 2014 after serving at the Mansfield News Journal since 2010. His early newspaper career was spent as a film critic for a Staten Island newspaper where he reviewed films in New York for 20 years.

Kelli TuttleTuttle was re-appointed as council clerk for the 2016-2017 term in January, but has been tapped to become the administrative assistant in the mayor’s office, filling the position left open by Eunice Collene. She will be working with Hill to bring him up to speed on the duties of council clerk.
