The Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center will host Saturday’s edition of the Crawford Park District’s Tellin’ Tales from 2 to 3:30 in the afternoon. The Dapper Cabin will be the focus of the afternoon’s discussion.

In the 1830s, the Dapper family came to Crawford County and built a log cabin for their family on land that was purchased from the government. Eventually, the cabin was donated by Katie Hoover to Colonel Crawford Schools.

Local historian and former Superintendent of Colonel Crawford Schools, Ted Bruner, will lead a discussion on the cabin’s history and the rebuilding of it by volunteers. The cabin will serve, among other things, as a history learning center for the district’s students.
