MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A 16-year-old was found deceased inside a residence at 67 E. Chestnut St. in Mansfield today, following a 911 call reporting a shooting. The call was received at approximately 02:02 pm, prompting an immediate response from Mansfield Police Officers.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the teenager with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim was swiftly transported to Ohio Health Mansfield by the Mansfield Fire Department, where they were pronounced deceased shortly after.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office has announced that the victim will be sent for an autopsy. This comes as part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
Major Crimes detectives are currently working to uncover what led to the shooting death. Efforts are also being made to identify any potential suspects involved.
