MARION ― A Marion man wanted in a shooting incident in Marion has been apprehended.

Lloyd Hinton Jr., 25, of Marion was arrested at a Marion residence shortly after midnight Sunday, Aug. 12, after Marion Police responded to 237 Pennsylvania Ave. on a tip from a community member that the suspect in a shooting at Gotham City Bar was there. Hinton is the primary suspect in a shooting at the downtown Marion bar early the morning of July 29. He was wanted on a warrant for felonious assault in connection with the shooting  two weeks ago. The victim of the shooting was taken by medical helicopter to a hospital in Columbus for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds.

According to a press release by the Marion Police Department, the occupants of the home did not initially cooperate and a search warrant was obtained. Before the search warrant could be served, Hinton exited the house and was arrested without incident. He was taken to Multi-County Correctional Center on his warrant stemming from the shooting.

Bucyrus police previously searched for Hinton at a residence on Charlotte Street in Bucyrus last week. During Hinton’s arrest, Marion police arrested several others.

Qwan Moore, 20, of Columbus was charged with possession of marijuana and heroin, and for bringing drugs into the Multi-County Correctional Center. Alle Reed, 20, of Marion was charged with felony obstructing justice and underage consumption.

Several others were charged with misdemeanor offenses in connection to the incident on Pennsylvania Avenue.

“We would like to thank the citizens of Marion for their help in getting this dangerous offender off our streets and into jail,” Major Jay McDonald said.
