GALION — A Marion man picked the wrong county to relocate to when he moved to Crawford County.
Mitchell Billman, 37, of Marion was on community control out of Marion County on a drug possession charge when he moved to Galion. As a result of that move, he came under the supervision of Eric Bohach, Chief Probation Officer in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.
According to Bohach, a road deputy from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department received a tip that Billman was using drugs. The deputy contacted Bohach who then gave Billman a drug test during his Tuesday evening office visit. After Billman tested positive for drugs, Bohach enlisted the help of the Galion Police Department to do a search of Billman’s home. A lieutenant of the Galion Police Department assisted.
During the search of Billman’s home, police found and seized 16 grams of suspected meth and 1-1.5 grams of heroin. Other items located in the drug kit included a scale and Narcan pills.
Billman was arrested on possible second-degree felony charges. Bond was set in Crawford County Municipal Court by Judge Shane Leuthold in the amount of $250,000.
“This is the first time I have ever seen Narcan in a drug bust,” Bohach said. Bohach credited the cooperation of the Crawford County Sheriff’s road deputy and the Galion Police Department with making the bust possible.
All the evidence in the case is being held by the Galion Police Department. Billman remains in custody at the Crawford County Justice Center.
