Those involved with the Crawford County Relay for Life showed they aren’t faint hearted over the weekend – but their commitment to their cause was already proof of that. In the face of stormy weather, Relay for Life merely went indoors at Wynford for its end of the year event and had three teams exceed their goals.
Deb Hillborn discusses meeting the challenges this year.
“We had fourteen teams involved in Relay this year. We had one, two, three we had about eight of them stay last night due to the weather,” Hillborn said. “We had to make some revisions with the weather so we came inside, so but we kept everything going music and all the fun stuff and the laps and the ceremonies and everything was great and we are wrapping it up for a year.”
This year’s goal for Crawford County Relay for Life is $97,000. Thus far they have raised approximately $61,000 and will continue to work towards the 2015 goal through Aug. 1.
Some of the area groups who participated were FC Bank, Avita Health Care Systems, Cats for a Cure, Wings of Hope, Hord’s Livestock, St. John’s Church, ACS Support Group, Ohio Mutual Insurance Group, St. Paul’s and BPT.
