BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—On Tuesday, Bucyrus Police announced a major breakthrough in a firearms possession case.
Local law enforcement officers successfully recovered several stolen weapons during a follow-up investigation.

Officers Wireman and Johnson, working closely with the Crawford County Municipal Probation Office, conducted an investigation into the illegal possession of firearms by convicted felon Wesley Efaw, 34, of Bucyrus.
During the operation, authorities discovered Efaw in possession of five loaded handguns, along with drug paraphernalia.

Four of the firearms were confirmed to have been stolen from vehicles in the city over the past year.
The investigation has linked Efaw to earlier thefts, as he matches the description of a suspect depicted in photos released by the police on September 1, 2025.
“This outcome underscores our commitment to professional and proactive policing aimed at safeguarding the residents and visitors of our community,” stated a police spokesperson, emphasizing the importance of agency collaboration in the case.
