BUCYRUS — The third of three steers that had escaped from their owner last Wednesday night at Producer’s Livestock on Plymouth Street was located Wednesday morning a little after 11 a.m.

According to Bucyrus Police Chief Dave Koepke, the steer was spotted on East Mary Street then made its way down Iron Street to South East.

“It passed right by the Bucyrus Elementary School as we were guiding it to the south end of town,” Koepke said.

Cruisers followed the steer until it was near the Bucyrus City Garage on Isaac-Beal Road where it was euthanized.

“The owner has identified it as the third, and last, missing steer,” Koepke said.

The other two steers were hit by a tractor-trailer truck on U.S. 30 late last week.
