BUCYRUS/MARION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies will hold OVI checkpoints tonight in Crawford and Marion counties to deter impaired driving.
In Crawford County, the highway patrol and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on County Road 330, west of U.S. Route 30 and east of Stetzer Road.
In Marion County, the highway patrol, Marion Police Department, and Marion County Sheriff’s Office will operate a checkpoint from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Mount Vernon Avenue, east of Forest Lawn Drive in the city of Marion.
Both checkpoints are funded by federal grants and aim to intercept impaired drivers. Nearby saturation patrols will operate in conjunction with the checkpoints to reduce alcohol-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities.
State troopers remind motorists to designate a driver or arrange alternate transportation before consuming alcohol.
