Corn production is now forecast at 162 bushels per acre which is up nine bushels from last year. Total corn production is also forecast to be higher than last year at 533 million bushels statewide, an increase of 7 percent from last year.

The national corn harvest is forecast is up 11 percent from last year at 15.1 billion bushels. The average national yield per acre is better than Ohio’s forecast at 174.4 bushels, six bushels higher than 2015 actual yield.
