The application window for the Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships is now open through the Sodexo Foundation. Applications are being accepted online, and the deadline to apply is Dec. 5.

The Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships recognize and reward students who have made a significant impact in the fight against hunger. This scholarship is named for the Sodexo Foundation’s founder and former president, who was an unstoppable champion in the fight to end hunger.

“The Sodexo Foundation strives to promote programs and initiatives to help end hunger in the United States,” Bucyrus City Schools Food Service General Manager Lorie Pennington said. “We have students who are doing spectacular things to help end hunger in Bucyrus and Crawford County, and I hope they will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.”

Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships are open to students ages 5-25 (Kindergarten through graduate school) enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the United States. Applicants must have demonstrated on-going commitment to their community by performing unpaid volunteer services impacting hunger. Applicants must also obtain a Community Service Recommendation as part of the application process.

“This is a terrific opportunity for our students to enter a competitive scholarship program,” Bucyrus Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said. “Regardless of age, we hope that our students and parents will consider applying for this scholarship.”
