Crawford County can now breathe a sigh of relief as it weathered the worst snowstorm of the season, at least for this area. Luckily, Ohio will be forgoing the blizzard that is hitting the Northeast over the next few days.

But that’s not to say that residents don’t have their own worries to deal with. Beth Hendrickson was already sick of shoveling snow Monday afternoon. Hendrickson works with the mentally handicapped and had helped them out earlier in the day.

“They get snow, I have to shovel,” Hendrickson said.

After taking care of those drives and sidewalks, Hendrickson still had to go home to shovel her own on Lane Street. Though she typically shoveled all the way back to her garage where she would park her car, she decided clearing enough of the driveway to park her car was plenty.

“This is the biggest storm so far. At least we’re not getting two feet,” she added.

Just a few blocks over Whitlee Miller was attempting to clear out the snow behind her mom’s car, though without much luck due to the accumulation of ice. Her sister, Samantha Chase, waited nearby. After they were through clearing space for her mom’s car, the two sisters planned on having a snowball fight with their neighbors.

Thursday’s forecast calls for more snow and possibly some rain.
