MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The worldwide theatrical phenomenon “MAMMA MIA!” is set to return to the Renaissance Theatre stage for six performances beginning Friday, April 24.
As part of the Park National Bank Broadway Series, the production brings the music of ABBA back to Mansfield following a sold-out run in 2019. The show is directed by Michael Thomas, with musical direction by Kelly Knowlton and choreography by Phoebe Mock.
Set on a Greek island, the story follows Sophie’s quest to discover the identity of her birth father on the eve of her wedding. The plot thickens when she invites three men from her mother Donna’s past to the island, leading to a series of comedic and emotional encounters soundtracked by hits such as “Dancing Queen,” “S.O.S.,” and “The Winner Takes It All.”
The production features a mix of local talent and guest stars. Nikki Stitak stars as Donna, joined by Leah Gesouras as Rosie and Broadway veteran Jamie Karen as Tanya. The three prospective fathers are portrayed by theatre veteran Beau Roberts, Jacob Poiner, and Adam Rawlings.
Additional cast members include Zakari Ramos as Sky, Nykera Gardner as Lisa, Cecilia Murphy as Ali, Darius Darmody as Pepper, and Christian Shepherd as Eddie.
“MAMMA MIA!” receives additional support from Athens Greek Restaurant, J & B Acoustical, and the Mansfield Gay Pride Association. While the show is one of the season’s most anticipated events, sponsorship opportunities remain available through Renaissance Development Coordinator Grace Reigel.
Tickets for the production start at $15. To avoid fraudulent sellers, the theatre advises patrons to purchase exclusively through official channels. Tickets are available 24/7 at rentickets.org, by phone at 419-522-2726, or at the box office located at 138 Park Avenue West, Mansfield.
