LEXINGTON—The Sorelle’ Sisters from Lexington have advanced to the playoffs on NBC’s singing competition, The Voice. The sister trio, consisting of Madi, 21, Ana, 20, and Bella, 15, made a lasting impression on guest coach Chance the Rapper and guest mentor Reba McIntyre during their knockout round performance on Monday.
The sisters’ harmonies wowed the judges, with McIntyre praising their related status, saying “There’s nothing better than bloodline harmonies.” Their stage name, Sorelle’, is French for “sisters.”
The young women’s coach, Chance the Rapper, explained why he chose them to advance, saying, “Your skill with harmonies and the way you gel so well is something that this show doesn’t really have. It just shows that you are willing to go the extra mile and try to make new stuff work, which is awesome to me.”
Lexington High School graduates Madi and Ana, along with their younger sister Bella, who attends school online as a freshman, will now compete in the playoffs starting May 1st. Each week, the remaining artists will perform live for audience votes, with the lowest-voted artists being eliminated.
The Sorelle Sisters will be competing on the live performance shows, which begin on May 15th. The Voice airs on NBC on Mondays at 8pm.
